Events at the Ritz Paris

Ever since it first opened its doors, the Ritz has constantly astonished and delighted its guests by organising events far beyond the common run. 

On July 9 1900, for example, on the occasion of a splendid dinner held on a hot summer evening, the Jardin Vendôme was overlaid with blocks and columns of ice, transforming it into the "North Pole", while the antechamber became a "palm grove". The menu, illustrated in watercolours, was entitled "From the Equator, to the North Pole, back to the Ritz".

Over 105 years later the Ritz continues to uphold a great tradition, regularly organising lavish events. Salons are decorated with stunning originality to match the chosen theme. One day the Salon César Ritz took on a sugar-candy air for the launch of a new perfume (the wall-hangings were covered in pink fabric for the occasions); the very next day it was packed with sunflowers as a backdrop for the presentation of a sun-cream.

The Ritz salons have a special appeal for many legendary names in the fashion world, and regularly provide the setting for the cream of the catwalk shows. The world's leading designers let their creativity run wild, transforming salons into whatever their imagination desires. One of the salons recently found itself magically changed into a Moroccan souk.
